Welcome to NBCU @ CES
This is the fourth consecutive year that NBC Universal has been the official broadcast partner of the International CES. Our growing presence at CES illustrates a core goal of our company: to offer consumers the best content when, where and how they want to experience it. No other single event comes close to matching CES in the breadth and scope of emerging platforms and new devices on display. But without great entertainment, sports, news and information content, these great devices are – as the legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow once said – “merely wires and lights in a box.”
And that’s why the world’s greatest content company belongs at the heart of CES.
To those of you who’ve visited our CES booth before, welcome back!! And to new visitors – we hope you’ll stop by. This year, our theme is “change.” We all know that change is a challenge in our industry – but also, a great opportunity. And NBC Universal is all about harnessing change to create powerful brands and exciting content experiences for consumers.
Like our company, our booth at CES will be many things to many people. In fact, the booth is a three-in-one creation – as the look and feel of Central Hall # 9831 changes each day of the show. So stopping by just once will mean you’re missing something good!
On Thursday, Syfy, the destination for imagination based entertainment, returns to CES, this time in partnership with the biggest names in gaming including THQ, Big Point, Rift and Trion. Syfy‘s full portfolio will be represented, in addition to the best in console and PC gaming like DeBlob 2, Battlestar Galactica Online, Syfygames.com and more. Other highlights include the interactive iPad lounge, digital extensions, programming content and a live demonstration of Trion’s newest game, Rift. At CES, Syfy is your passport to limitless possibilities.
On Friday, Bravo takes over with a mix of live shows and demos and the introduction of @bravotv, a real-time social media experience where fans can interact and engage with their favorite Bravolebrities. Guests will be able to check out Bravo Now, which allows fans to engage with their favorite shows during Bravo‘s live events. In the center of it all, come check out By Bravo, where you can sample molecular gastronomy cooking samples by current “Top Chef All-Stars” chef, Richard Blais, or watch as housewives Tamra and Gretchen join Bravo‘s Andy Cohen to interview guests and review the hottest items at CES with their own Bravo flair. It is a full day of tech, taste and talk by Bravo.
And on Saturday, Oxygen invites CES attendees to “live out loud” with its unique and groundbreaking point of view. Don’t miss Oxygen‘s award-winning real time water cooler, www.OxygenLive.com , Saturday at 3:00pm with special guest and international music sensation Aubrey O’Day as she takes questions about her upcoming docu-series, “All About Aubrey.” And, on Saturday and Sunday, everyone will have an opportunity to sing out loud in the Oxygen karaoke globe and their performances will be available for them to retrieve online and share. Also, they can visit the Bad Girls Club photo booth!
Plus, throughout the show, NBCU‘s powerful lineup of news and information properties will also be on display. Be sure to stop by as CNBC‘s Maria Bartiromo and MSNBC‘s Chris Matthews, Tamron Hall and JJ Ramberg among others, create television LIVE from our broadcast stage on the show floor. And along with our partners at SHARP, we’re creating “The Hub,” a unique social media center where webcasters, bloggers and other special guests will share content about their CES experience.
It’s an exciting time to be in the content business. In 2011, more content will be produced and consumed than ever before. And at CES, NBC Universal‘s booth and broadcast hub will be the place to be as the newest technologies are married with the best content to produce the industry’s most powerful media experiences.
Stop by our booth in Central Hall and see for yourself. And make sure to say hello!
